Takes longer to release software than write it. Technology-wise DB is about 5 years behind the competition. Limited opportunities for upward mobility and limited autonomy. All key decisions are made in the London and New York hubs. Very little training provided, very easy to become stuck/trapped in a role. Infrastructure support is a joke, all support is outsourced and the teams have no accountability and it shows in the level of service they provide.

This is a terrible place for technology workers. Aside from the fact that IT employees get penalized for all the ethical and financial screw ups of some greedy traders, this place does not provide the simplest environment for IT staff (including developers ..etc) to be successful. Everything is locked down, and the simplest tasks can take weeks if not months to happen. From career perspective, there are very limited promotions in the RTP office in North Carolina, and the site is not growing anymore. All power is given to the UK and German offices, with remote offices acting only as implementation force, no more.
