Pros

Treat their people well if you want to stay in the position you are in. Decent benefits. Foster changing jobs so you don't have to be stuck in the same job or with the same team forever.

Cons

Very bureaucratic organization. Always having management shakeups at the top levels. Takes forever to get much of anything significant accomplished (6 months to get hardware I can get from Amazon in 2 days??? C'mon guys!) Very political process in getting promoted... more about who you know and who you can get to recognize you than what you accomplish. Lots of middle managers more focused on how things are perceived to upper management rather than getting things done. I saw deliveries that were ready to go being held back so that upper management wouldn't be expecting fast deliveries all the time or to keep from someone higher up the chain from looking good... as I said, very political.

Pros

Low cost for medical benefits

Cons

Managers are promoted based on individual contributions and are never put though any former training or how to mange sot there is an extreme lack of leadership. The culture is terrible and a lot of angst. With DB's current focus on cost cutting, people are realizing they they are simply viewed as a cost that can be cut whenever necessary. In addition, there are few exceptions to backfill positions for employees who leave so remaining team members are left to take on the functions for all those who are terminated or leave for better opportunities
