Pros

- Majority of employees were down to earth and easy to get along - Dog friendly office - Decent awarded PTO and benefits

Cons

- Below market pay and little / no mobility for pay raises. Manager explicitly told me that pay raises were never going to happen. - Inconsistent in who they allow to be remote vs. mandated in-office. - There have been two rounds of layoffs within the past year. DeveloperTown apparently had a more lax and fun atmosphere in the past, but that was not the case during my tenure and imagine that it has only diminished further. - Can be a high-pressure environment due to the nature of consulting.

A great place to grow

Pros

The incredible mentorship I received from the team at DeveloperTown, along with the variety of projects I was able to work on, meant I grew as a designer and developer faster than I ever expected. I've never worked with a company that promotes as healthy a work-life balance as DeveloperTown—I never burned-out at DeveloperTown, and I attribute that mainly to the great "no workaholics" culture that comes from the top down. You'll work hard at DeveloperTown, but you'll be leaving at 5pm, where at other comparable companies I've been expected to stay until 9pm or longer.

Cons

I spent about half of the time working at DeveloperTown in Indianapolis, and about half working remotely. While DeveloperTown is remote friendly, the center of the culture is always in the Indianapolis office (which is great if you're in Indy), and when I left it was still adapting to an increasingly remote workforce. I suspect they'll adapt to this new reality quickly, and this won't be a con for too long.
