Pros

Once you are hired, it’s an easy job. if you show up to work and do your job, things are secure as long as oil is over $60/bbl. Some people work harder than others. So you would want to find an area where you don’t have to bust it and donate your time for the cause. Corporate in OKC is its own animal. To get in there, you will have to have connections in the company. The people promoted seem to be those that cow-tow to the management system, if you are a free thinker, or an outsider, don’t expect to be hired or promoted from the field offices.

Cons

The internal politics of OKC are enough of a drag to deter anybody from wanting to work there.
