Pros

Discord cares - it's palpable inside, and it matches the way discord presents on the outside. There is whimsy, fun, belonging, and building. There are amazing folks, who are approachable, smart, and a delight to work with. As a company, Discord is pretty responsive, and I've seen many changes which were spurred on by employees.

Cons

Discord can be a bit chaotic. The top-level management is mostly about providing the right vibes, leaving many departments and teams to operate autonomously, which can make work feel disjointed and thrash-y.

Pros

The product is interesting and used by many

Cons

100% agree with all the other 1 or 2 star reviews. Here's what I noticed while I worked there: Toxic culture - dog eat dog mindset Poor work-life balance Poor leadership Constant strategy pivots - every 3 to 6 months for the past 2 to3 years No career growth People getting fired with no feedback given prior to the event

Pros

- the community and product - wonderful colleagues - wonderful ERGS and people partners - interesting projects - remote friendly

Cons

- starting in management and going upwards, things do not feel good - completely agree with the other 1-2 stare reviews, feels like a toxic relationship, culture is poor, leadership decisions can cause high churn for often unclear gain, not a good work-life-balance - poor empathy from leadership and management downwards. harsh occurrences of colleagues being managed out, asked to quit, or fired and issues announcing departures with appropriate teams. poor feedback loops and poor coaching from management. - poor career growth, especially compared to other top tech companies. the performance review system is still pretty new
