Pros

You get great experience as an intern here - you really do real work on real projects. You get immersed in the culture, and walk away knowing a lot more about real life marketing than you did in school.

Cons

Riverwoods is kind of a crappy location. The economy has hit Discover (as it has all credit companies) pretty hard...makes you wonder whether you'll still have a job.

Good benefits, interesting work, good opportunties for internal mobility both across divisions and geographies

Cons

Leadership culture can be passive agressive, generally pretty flat corp. structure yields artificially lower seeming titles for positions

Pros

Strong personal development through experience Warm, friendly work environment Family oriented work/life balance Great vacation time / Good health care

Cons

Large important projects slowed down by silo'd departments focusing on their own agendas New ideas meet heavy resistance Career progression through promotion is uncommon (usually through "position hopping")
