      Benefits, retirement, honorable career, excellent training, good pay.

      Cons

      The upper management had and has poor leadership, high turnover rate at the jail, poor classification of inmates, subject to violence, to many hours worked that you get burned out, poor schedule, mangers are not to flexible with staff. Mandatory overtime!!!

      Your co-workers besides that no other pros. Getting the experience as a inexperienced officers.

      Cons

      The inmates pretty much run that place. Mandated overtime on your days off, a lot of inexperience officers. 1 year is considered a veteran for that place because people are constantly quitting. Pay is not worth it and you don't have any protection, all you have is your radio to defend yourself..if your going to work here get the experience and run with it.

      -Coworkers -Doesn't appear to take much to get promoted -Decent checks due to a bunch of overtime.

      Cons

      Pay is horrible compared to other opportunities in the next detention center over in El Paso. El Paso cadets make more than Dona Ana Sergeants.
