Pros

9/80 schedule if you are in one of the old offices (San Francisco)

Cons

* Slow to change * Moving up requires either luck through a void or oppurtunity, or by networking internally - not really merit based. * Poor recognition for what you achieve. Unless you're on a sexy project you might as well be invisible. * Too many managers

Pros

Good technical groups, plenty of tools/processes to help communication across multi national groups, though becomes time consuming. Nice, amicable environment. Great benefits

Cons

Company has plenty of expertise in sound technology, trying to build new/further capabilities in video, voice and multimedia. Latter effort is not focused, sometimes not well planned. Plenty of politics between different groups. Trouble breaking through old guard. Research engineering has more of marketing & product management approach than technical one. Could be due to focus on licensing and not product development. Bureaucratic.
