      Great ideas, not greatest when put into practice.

      Pros

      Very stable, never had layoffs. A lot of great people to work with.

      Cons

      Not a very realistic place to work, a lot of the training is for a perfect world, not the branch you end up in. The size of the company lends to a very gossipy and somewhat uncomfortable work environment. Some of the training comes up very short, and it takes quite awhile for the changes to be made.

      Pros

      Great hours if you do not work in the branches. Benefits are good. Having 10 bank holidays off a year is fantastic BUT they consider that part of your "vacation" time. They have never laid anyone off so job security is definitely solid!

      Cons

      Pay is below industry averages. Opportunities for advancement are not plentiful. It is a very old-fashioned (read: not progressive) environment.

      Pros

      Small bank were you can get to know everyone who works within the company. Relatively stress free, easy job. Gives great insight into the industry and how banks operate.

      Cons

      Low pay. Minimal raises. Limited opportunities for advancement from within. Beginning to focus more and more on sales. They say that sales pressure is not emphasized, but sales is emphasized more and more, just not compensated. High turnover rate results in employees that are less and less qualified and competent.
