Pros

Being able to build your own team members, and getting to know the customers on a daily basis, inside the store becomes your family.

Cons

The only down side is not feeling good about the job you have done for the Company because you are never thanked for it.

Pros

It is very challenging, physically and mentally. The customers are, for the most part, wonderful people. My employees are fantastic. My DM is apparently one of the few good ones out there.

Cons

Store managers are expected to work 6 days a week. In order to get everything done that needs to be done I am usually in there from open to close. My payroll is not enough to have a cashier in the mornings so I am by myself 4 to 5 hours a day. Having to get truck out in 48 hours no matter how big it is or how little help I have. Changing planograms does increase sales but it also makes customers angry. The customers get mad when they can't find something, or even someone to help them because the only person in the store is working the register. Cutting payroll doesn't do anything but stress the managers and make the customers angry. Corporate has great ideas but they don't always work very well in the real world. A lot of times I find myself resentful when I realize that with the hours I work my minimum wage cashier earns more than I do!
