Pros
401k matching at 5% on day one is excellent. Pay is decent (for some management)
Cons
Corporate refuses to give enough payroll hours at the store level so management is often responsible for running the register, stocking, counting money, etc. I'm not afraid of hard work, but much is expected of low-level, underpaid employees, making turnover high. There tended to be arbitrary directives from corporate that were not based in reality at the store level. Upper management was more concerned with bonuses (and, in turn, cutting payroll hours and salaries to achieve those bonuses) than they were with the welfare of employees and the satisfaction of the customer.
