Pros

The associates in my store.

Cons

They work the managers like slaves. 60 to 70 hours a week are the norm. You pay for all healthcare benefits the company contributes 0. Extremely high turn over most stores pay minimum wage. District managers and up have no idea what the stores go through to accomplish their work. Top management has lost touch with reality. They make millions and hundreds of thousands of dollars while the store staff struggles to make ends meet. They are condescending patronizing and act like they care. I finally have found another job.

Pros

Job security - most people would never want to work for this company

Cons

The upper leadership is poor at best and the pay is well below competitive with other companies. Drug testing is not done for Managers or Assistant Managers and of course not for anyone lower on the store payroll. Background checks are only done for Managers and Assistant Managers. The pay is minimium wage and all you can get is people with felonies because they can't get a job anywhere else. The company doesn't lower the air below 75 degrees which during the summer causes customers and employees to suffer from heat stroke and pass out. I would not recommend working for this company to anyone.

Pros

Monthly sales bonus, benefits package. That's really it. There is nothing else that is positive for me to comment on.

Cons

Greedy company who can pay 8 billion dollars to purchase Family Dollar, but still pays minimum wage of 7.25 to associates and barely more than that for assistant managers. Work life balance is non existent.
