      They pay well for the remote area

      They closed the mill when we were producing more than any other company. Corporate didn’t even tell us, found out from local news.

      Pros

      You support a local site. Good rapport with other departments and hourly makes the job great.

      Cons

      Company merger. Domtar was the gold standard between the 3 companies. Now, Resolute seems to make all the decisions despite being the farthest behind in IT.

      Pros

      Absolutely none, this place is the worst company I have ever worked for.

      Cons

      The culture is terrible. There is absolutely no collaboration, no direction, the company is way too big and most people have no idea what they are doing. It appears to have gone down the drain once merged with Resolute. They are in a terrible spot financially. The industry is a dying industry. Lots of closing mills, lay offs and never a lot of positive feedback. Always very limited budget. Pay is horrid but the people that work there are even worst. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to work at Domtar.
