Pros

The people are the best thing about Dorchester Collection. I have met some exceptionally talented and inspiring people who will be friends for like.

Cons

Pay and benefits are not competitive. You may earn thousands less than you can earn in other organisations for the same role. In the corporate office there is no flexibility. Only 1 day wfh (Mondays only) and only 28 days on annual leave (includes bank holidays). They try to impress you with free employee stays, but they are impossible to book, so don't even consider it a benefit. The company use their 'prestige' to take advantage of people, loading more work and responsibilities on them without support or fair compensation. There are incredibly incompetent leaders in the business who have no vision, give no direction and are incapable of developing a business strategy. Because they 'talk the talk' and fluff their feathers like peacocks, they manage to bs their way into role they cannot do. But these leaders are all protected and line-level staff are the ones who suffer, not to mention the fact they have no issue letting go of poor performing line level employees. There are some huge egos in this company so it's very hierarchal with a lot of office politics. The company is a sinking ship. It once had a fantastic culture, but since the appointment of the new VP of P&C and P&C Director, the departure of the two (new) CEOs within a month of each other, the culture is eroding, becoming all about cost saving measures and not about people. So, don't fall for their 'people first' garbage. They may have won The Times Best Places to Work accolade, but it's all a lie. They don't share the survey with departments they know will score poorly in it.
