      Time to revisit strategy

      Pros

      Not very many now. Company is going through some challenging times. Lot of exposure to different projects. Self motivation is encouraged. Opportunity to work on international projects across time zones.

      Cons

      Very consensous oriented culture. Too much time spent in meetings. It is challenging to get much work done outside of meetings. Bonuses and pay raises have not been very good for the past few years. Travel budget has been severely curtailed. Challenges in getting approval to do business travel. Lot of cost cutting and pull backs across the board. Would not encourage new graduates to consider Dow as first career option.

      Pros

      People at Dow are wonderful. Lots of opportunities and work that needs to get done from lower to higher levels. Culture is relaxed and people are very helpful if they are available. A very team oriented environment with some great leaders. Safety and people are always first.

      Cons

      A lot of work with no pay raises and bonuses at time. Management likes to restructure every single time we change management. Not a lot of people who have a lot of time to do all the work and opportunities to get the work done. Meetings upon meetings upon meetings. How do you get anything done?

      Pros

      Career Opportunities, they do an outstanding job of promoting from within. Dow has an outstanding employee development process, and uses a performance management process to determine top talent within the company. These process always employees to determine the level of success that they want to acheive within the company.

      Cons

      Dow does not truly care about the "human element" as much as they say. Senior management seems to only make decisions that benfit themselves the most. If Senior Management cared more about their current employees Dow would be an outstanding place to work.
