Pros

Emphasis on innovation, and the amount of resources allocated towards it. The fine balance the management draws between being a commodity vs. a specialty material business

Cons

As Dow acquires smaller/ specialty companies, it is not yet comfortable in respecting the 'start up' culture that exists in those companies. The Big B type attitude in imposing the Dow culture, may not be effective.

Pros

It's a job that pays well and good benefits. Excellent ongoing projects.

Cons

Too much local management involvement. Micro managing. Management seems more "edgy" than in the past under Rohm and Haas leadership. The friendliness has greatly disapeared over the past few years after Dow purchased R&H. Could it be general fear ? I usually get this impression as I speak with fellow coworkers!
