Pros

Pays well for the area. 401K currently 5% matching. next year it should come up to the local average of 9% in large companies following the end of all pension plan contributions (con for many nearing retirement or those who had decent plans) Bonus dependent on level in the company 6%-20% of yearly salary modified by personal performance, company performance, and some new markers that are not usually controllable by the average employee. General workforce (~50% of those employed) is 6% Safety is number 1 (Pro and Con)

Cons

Large company that seems to focus more on recruitment than retainment. You are a number! and a race and a gender. numbers matter for diversity and inclusion. Values, Culture, Diversity and inclusion. Its forced and feels like a plastic vaneer of posters and email spam as the current set of buzz words in corporate. not a lot of empowerment to leaders to build a real team, the days of small group team building exercises are dead. Everything is done at a larger department or site wide scale which seems to kill the intent. This in turn kills the whole point of inclusion. Dow spends a lot of time and effort on employee resource groups to segregate everone by their cultures so that they only talk to those groups as opposed to allowing managers to let their teams go out and do activites with those that they will actually work with while developing stronger relationships. Many benefits that are very targeted or "soft". Recognition programs and Health focused programs and that spend a lot of money with outside organizations to redeem points for garbage. Its great they offer something, but would rather see companies spending less money on a flimsy programs and more money in my pocket. A chemical company Very interestingly racist hiring policies. Symposiums that only hire from specific Race or gender profiles in order to meet internal quotas. Safety is number 1 (if you get hurt, it definitely was your fault)
