If You Like Office Politics, You Will love Working Here

Pros

If you like to talk, you will go far here. That's all that matters. Having actual skills or education will hurt you. Management is full of people who can talk, and that's all they can do. So, they are threaten by anyone with actual talent and character. They consider the perfect person to be someone who has never heard of source control. The perfect educational background is to have an associates degree in exercise from Totally Not a Scam Community College.

Cons

If you actually want to make a product and help patients, you will be depressed everyday. Nothing ever gets done. People are rewarded for promoting themselves and others in their clique. Nothing else matters.

Pros

If you are productive you will be noticed, empowered, and rewarded. Culture encourages changes and continuous improvement. Opportunities for travel (to Germany) Recent hires are helping to turn the organization around. Very competitive salary both for junior and senior levels. Ineffective managers have been let go. Willingness on the part of Germany to invest in the division. Reasonable work/life balance.

Cons

Lingering resistance to change with some long time employees No stock options Aggressive schedules Still supporting some very old legacy products (with old technology)

Pros

99% of the coworkers I enjoyed working with all very smart and fairly easy to work with. The products you build revolve are patient monitoring so you can get some pride in the work you do. Coworkers are very helpful and often are ok with sharing knowledge. I definitely recommend Drager if you are just starting your career if you have some experience look somewhere else first.

Cons

Some of the products are old, so be prepared to keep them on life-support. Middle-Management heavy, too many middle managers sometimes it felt like some of them just weren't contributing and were essentially taking advantage of the agile process. Bullpen style office sometimes makes people feel packed in. Also there's a few toxic coworkers who are smart but definitely made working at Draeger difficult at times. Change happens frequently.
