Pros

There are some very talented, sincere, and honest workers - these are the true heroes that need recognition! A few senior management and execs are looking out for you, and bless them! The product is good, the tech is good, and the surface-level friendliness is pleasant. The offices are nice.

Cons

Nobody wants to take on the responsibility to take on the task. Some say they're overworked, while others just know someone else will do it. Judgment, planning, management, and delivery are mediocre assignments across the organization. Very Cliquey and political if you don't build alliances with the right people, you could slide out of your role or be shifted elsewhere. Pivots and restructuring are way too common. I left because there was no shot at career development. Workflows are inefficient, and associates' suggestions get brushed under the rug. Some people act like they're too good to clean a toilet.

Pros

I will say DraftKings has a great benefits package. Free to express yourself without any retaliation Free snacks and drinks when you are in office if you are into that. Your fellow colleagues are great...management...its a hit or miss. Email mostly...sometimes you will chat or call players on request.

Cons

Where do I start? Training? What is that? We had 3 weeks of "training" which mostly us gathering docs and filling out state gaming license paperwork. What little training we got was mostly computer based assignments and a few days of mentoring. After that, they send you to the wolves. Once you are out in the "wild"...you are subjected to metrics and micro managing. They use a program that monitors your productivity...but the system is flawed. If you take too much time on a ticket and need to ask a question....you get penalized. If you skip the ticket because you are unable to get your question answered....penalized. If its a slow season...you will be fighting others for tickets and people will steal them from you to keep their numbers up. Its very discouraging and could put you in a not so fun place with your Lead. They claim to not be a call center but def run it like a call center. Hybrid position not fully remote. There is no reason to come in office 2 days a week just to do the same thing you do at home.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us candid feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the perks, benefits, and working with your teammates at DraftKings. We’re incredibly sorry about your experience with training and your manager. While we consistently ensure new hires have the proper training during onboarding, we know there is always room for improvement. We will flag this to our onboarding team to ensure we maintain high standards and provide critical information during our training. Regarding the miscommunication with HR, this is certainly not a regular occurrence. We’ve brought this to the attention of our People team and will look specifically into this incident. Again, we appreciate all the feedback you’ve provided us so we can continue improving our training and workflow for every team member.

Pros

DK has been working so hard over the last few years to continue growing at a fast pace and keep culture alive in a remote environment. The effort that the leadership team has put into supporting the business resource groups is admirable. They show up to meetings, they listen to complaints and enforce positive change. People are awesome - smart, driven, passionate environment with lots of room to learn and grow. If you work hard, you will be rewarded. It may just come at mid year and end of year.

Cons

Growth comes with challenges, new management and new ways of doing things can be scary at first. But these changes, processes and guidelines are here to make DK a better place. Hopefully the changes start to ease off and we can get back to what we do best. Do not force people back into the office when most of their team is remote.
