Pros

I dont see any pros in this company

Cons

Toxic and idiot managers. Firing folks in 60 days by putting them on PIP. Manager asking to give 1 month advance notice for a one day off. Employees login and work while on their PTO and time off as well due to the pressure from management. And management is unapologetically encouraging it. Complete chaos in identity/accounts org. 90 percent of employees working in the org have worked less than 12 months in the org/company. Folks are literally hired and fired or seldom leave the company within an year. I would never recommend anyone to join this company. Bunch of incompetent upper/mid level management folks.

Pros

•If you’re a new grad, this place might seem like a good way to get your foot in the door. You’ll probably learn a lot quickly because they throw you right into the deep end. •Some team members are great and genuinely supportive when they’re not caught up in the toxicity. •They advertise unlimited PTO, which sounds great at first (but see below…).

Cons

•The culture can be pretty toxic. Some people constantly talk over others in meetings or act passive-aggressive, and management doesn’t seem to care. It’s hard to feel valued or heard. •Leadership is heavily influenced by favoritism. If you’re not in their inner circle or “on their side,” good luck getting your concerns addressed. •They hire lots of new grads, probably because they’re easier to overwork and won’t push back as much. •The on-call expectations are ridiculous. It’s super demanding and completely ignores any concept of work-life balance. •The “unlimited PTO” is kind of a joke. Sure, it’s “unlimited,” but management won’t let you take more than two weeks off at a time, so it’s not as flexible as they make it sound. •If you’re experienced, this place will frustrate you. Creativity and innovation take a backseat to just keeping your head down and going along with whatever leadership wants.

Pros

In general, DraftKings is a good place to work. Some highlights: * "Unlimited" PTO that's easy to take; they encourage people to take time off to destress * Decent pay and benefits, including stock grants * Good documentation * Lots of very smart and helpful devs * Choice of in-office, hybrid, or remote work * Fun products to work on

Cons

While interviewing, I was repeatedly told I would be promoted within the first year. This was never put in writing and I was gullible enough to fall for it. After I joined I found out that basically nobody gets promoted in a year and it usually takes more like 2-3 years before a promotion, if it happens at all. I also found out that several other people were told the same thing during interviewing. It's a recruitment tactic that they use to get people in the door. Furthermore, they've recently announced that they're making changes to the promotion board and process to make promos more difficult to achieve. So if you happen to be interviewing for DraftKings, and like all the other potential aspects of the role and company aside from the quick promotions they promise, then by all means join. Overall it's a good company and I've definitely worked for far worse. But be forewarned that any talk of quick promotions is false and just a tactic to persuade you to accept an offer.
