Pros

Some of the coolest coworkers and people are at the studio, the projects are very exciting

Cons

It doesn't feel like theres a real interest in keeping talent or fostering growth. Management for my team was really bad at communicating and tried to solve morale/retention issues with "fun parties" instead of addressing the systemic issues in the department. They also didn't really seem to care for their team, saying there wouldn't be layoffs then letting go of a lot of people and expected everything to run just as smoothly/people to not be mad and "get over it"

A Glass Ceiling Exists

Pros

Quality of work life was the very best of all of the animation companies at that time. It actually didn't feel like you were going to work at a corporation, but at an artist retreat.

Cons

The review and rankings process of all employees made quick judgements on your future (from people who never worked with you) and if you were in fact - "promotion material". There was a definite ceiling to your future within the company, as the company looked to hire from the outside for most higher tiered positions, rather than working to grow its own.
