We appreciate the review. We are truly thankful for your hard work and dedication for 10+ years as that is a huge accomplishment! We know that over the years there have been various changes within the company and leadership, so we appreciate your flexibility as you navigated those changes. Your feedback on miscommunication and distant leadership is heard - and sorry to hear that this was your experience with us. We will take this feedback as this is an area that we want to make sure is always in optimal condition. We hope your next position offers you the same perks and benefits you found with DriveTime. We wish you the very best moving forward!

Pros

Great benefits that are reasonably priced. Closed Sundays. If you are a self motivator than you can move up. Obviously if you are relocatable than you are able to move up faster. Great training and good communication from senior management. When you go into sales, you know that you are going to put up with a lot of “extras” but you also know the pay will make it worth it. I met a lot of great people and made a lot of great relationships. I had great mentors along the way.

Cons

It’s a sales job so don’t go into it thinking that there will be much work life balance. Even before covid due to the structure of the company, you won’t see your assistant director or director much - they just have too much on their plate to be at your store to check in. Be prepared to be managed remotely.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your time with us as a General Manager. We are very thankful that you chose to share 8+ years with us leading our Retail teams! Among the many benefits and perks that come with the role, working with amazing coworkers that turn into Mentors and family is one of the best perks of them all and we are glad you got to experience that with DriveTime. We appreciate your feedback on our communication during COVID, and hope you can understand that we did our best communicating to all our employees at a national level. With every update and change, we are not only transparent, but also overcommunicate by sending out video messages from our CEO, virtual team meetings, our internal communication channels, and through our employee handbook. We appreciate your feedback and suggestions and we wish you the best for your future endeavors.

Company doesn’t really care

Pros

Tax season can be good income, most coworkers are great.

Cons

Coronavirus caused over half the employees to be let go, which is understandable. But then they took commission away, increased workload and cut hours. So now we’re expected to work harder for much less money. I have 0 incentive to sell a car now. Today they announced we’re all getting “promoted” which just means more responsibility but guess what....no raise. They made it very clear salary would not be changed at the moment but we’re expected to do more anyway. Don’t work here unless you can’t find a job anywhere else. I can’t wait to quit.

We appreciate you working with us through these unprecedented times. Due to COVID, our business faced unexpected disruptions to our operations which unfortunately did result in a layoff. To support our employees through this time, we implemented a retention bonus for all Sales Advisors - so no matter how many cars might be sold, you'll still be rewarded. We felt this was the right thing to do for our employees who continue to assist our customers on the front lines. As always, if ever you have any questions or concerns regarding your role, we encourage you to reach out to your Management team or the Talent Support Team to discuss further.
