Pros

Great starting salary for individuals starting their first career. Since you work a lot of hours you become great friends with your coworkers. It is a great teamwork environment. If teamwork is not your style then this job is not for you. You get to go outside and enjoy the nice weather; you're not pinned at a desk for 8 hours.

Cons

Very long hours. Since this is a salaried position you are not compensated for the large amount of overtime you will be putting in. If you don't make a sale then those hours are wasted. DriveTime expects you to not want to leave work. Tax season is the hardest time of year; don't expect to have a social life during those months. Horrible breaks. Even if you put in 10-12 hours you only get a 30 minute break; sometimes you don't even get that! A lot of the employees get cranky because we're all starving!

Pros

Good salary for a car sales jobs. No work on Sundays. Ability to interact with customers. A chance to meet a lot of people.

Cons

Benefits are too expensive and management is incompetent. You are forced to sell a predatory loan to customers who don't know the right questions.

Auto Techs Beware!!!

Pros

drivetime has a decent benifits package for all employees. the managers will spring for pizza every once in awhile from the cheapest place they can find and call it team building.

Cons

they turn on a dime and are very wishy washy. it is definitly a good ole boys club. they "lay off" high paid techs and then 2 weeks later post adds to hire new entry level techs and give them a $1000 sign on bonus but the techs that were laid off are forced to reapply if they want their job back and get there pay and senority cut if they do come back.
