Pros

Our shop educator was super helpful and always kind Decent Tips most of the time Nice Coworkers

Cons

Low hourly pay for the amount of work you do Hard on your body and will cause pain No guaranteed breaks and you’ll be lucky if you get a chance to eat during busy season Extremely fast passed and Stressful environment Manager at the time of my employment had favorites and would give them preferential treatment You will likely have to deal with a few “Karen” type clients If you want to take a vacation or a day off, you must ask AT LEAST 30 days in advance and its first come first serve so if you have something important come up or need to call in sick you better hope someone will cover your shift

Pros

can be a fun community

Cons

managers were always on vacation, meanwhile 95% of the time I would request a day off I'd get denied because "too many stylists were off already off" making it impossible to take any time off. (Of course no one wants to cover your shifts...) managers making it so you're unable to change your schedule, the low pay, the constant pain you're in from doing blowouts all day. they treat you as a slave. if you say no they don't care. I got in a car accident and tried to call out and was told to I had come in. Insane.
