Pros

quick hiring process, easy system to learn, diverse staff and lots of inclusion, not much to the job itself and would be great fo a first-time store manager role.

Cons

Shop is run without any retail management experience, individual attitudes are really rude, and no knowledge on how to lead or coach a team of people. Major power struggle with upper management and people actually working in the shop. Use terms like 'make people feel bad' when mistakes are made. The Salon Manager role is really an assistant role because there's no trust in the staff to make decisions or do anything without supervision at all times. Be ready to offer opinions and suggestions and get them shut down. There is a lot of shady stuff going on with money and peoples pay. The pay that is on job listings is not true for all positions. Stylists made below minimum wage up until a month ago. Shop has been open since July. The decisions on when to start paying people with raises or salary changes when promotions occur are not on your terms but at others convenience. Will have to specifically ask for new offer letters, itemized pay info, and other documentation regarding pay because it is not given up front. Will rarely get itemized bonus layouts, and everything is very inconsistent. Payroll is done by hand by two people. In the opening week on the job which was the set up of the store itself (since this location just opened), some employees worked 72+ hours in one week and didn't get paid for any of it.. paychecks were barely $700 for certain people. Stylists are required to do 45 minute blowouts back to back all day for between 6-8 hours with minimal breaks. Overall, untrustworthy management and stylists beware, you would make WAY more $$ at a full service salon and be accommodated for your real time than here.
