Pros

Amazingly sweet owners, product discount is generous, free blowout styles from coworkers, tips, flexible scheduling when needed but a set schedule you can plan around.

Cons

Overbooking on the busy days, sitting around for hours during the slow times, really tall chairs that make styling difficult for even the tallest stylists (me!), rigid styling rules that do not work for a lot of clients, strict timing of client appointments that can be unreachable, very low wages that do not reflect the amount of work being done or the stylists experience level ($10 per hour plus tips), high turnover

Pros

none. none at all. it’s horrible.

Cons

This company is a walking labor violation. No matter the location or franchise. It is a sweat shop. My nervous system is a wreck due to the psychological stress and conditions drybar puts you through. you are overworked and severely underpaid and expected to do the work of management who are useless and who never actually do their jobs despite making 3x your salary. There are a million callouts, no mandatory breaks, constant computer and system issues because drybar is so broke and money hungry they give us used computers from 2016, deep cleaning the whole salon is required despite working a full day, double booked clients, inventory issues, I could go on. But you are expected to handle all of it and the issues that come along with it… with zero help from leadership and management. I’ve seen stylists go out on the floor with medical emergencies due to them being overworked and sick leave that was excused by a doctors note being denied and written up by management. And don’t even get me started on how entitled and despicable the clients are. Grown woman who are disrespectful, rude and acting like it’s their first day on earth and have no shame in screaming at teenagers and young women trying to do their jobs and fixing issues that are outside of our control. Even though they berated us constantly, they were never banned from the salon. This company does not see you as a human being. Only a robot who makes money for the greedy owners who couldn’t care less about our existence, yet we were the ones who made their business possible. After working here, I have many health issues both physically and psychologically. Save yourself and work somewhere else!
