Pros

Fun coworkers and atmosphere, fast paced, great if you love styling hair! Most clients are great to work with! Very flexible schedule! Open long hours so you're able to work a full time morning shift 7-2 and have the rest of the day to enjoy! Which is greater than your typical salon hours, where you're stuck there all day 10-8! Able to advance in the company which is great but really not worth it because of workload and low wage.

Cons

Some shops are disorganized! No brushes in the drawers when you're ready to style client after shampoo. Minimum hourly wage which is a slap in the face to licensed stylists that spend thousands on school. Would be nice if stylists were paid commission for styling even 30% would be nice which would allow employees to make $24 an hour if clients are done in 30 mins plus tips. Clients are allowed to tip on card which are put into your paycheck and taxed. Most clients tip on card which doesn't leave you with much cash in your hand at the end of the day. Some clients are disrespectful and don't think employees are licensed and instruct stylists on how to do their hair beforehand. Granted some stylist are more experience than others so this is very annoying to stylist that know how to deal with all hair types. Management also sends you home early if its slow which is very annoying if you get up early for a 7am shift just to be sent home at 10 am. At least go over schedule the night before and give stylist the option to maybe come in later in the day if it will be busier. Also you're unable to make too much money because they don't want you to work overtime. Not able to take a break between clients due to lack of shampoo assistance. Small break room in some locations. Very greedy company, doesn't value the employees that are actually doing the work the company is known for!

Benefits even for part time, discounts on products, set schedule (once selected)

Very very very low pay, techniques more difficult then it actually has to be, training process requires numerous models which isn't always possible.
