Pros

I loved my time at Drybar! Management is dependent on the shop manager, we had a great manager at our location. Some locations are franchise based so owners have more say and involvement which is great. Fun clients, coworkers, and good training. My shop was very team oriented so if you needed help it was there. Weekends like in any salon are crazy but time goes by so fast. It's great side money, you can pick up shifts easily.

Cons

Like any other salon job, it was so difficult to get a day off. We had to request days off 3-4 months in advance if it was a weekend. Oct-December it's not allowed to take weekends off unless it's covered by another stylist. I had to pay other stylists to take shifts because I was unable to get days off for important life events.

Pros

You can build clientele working here. Develop great styling skills

Cons

You are worked like a slave. Except no breaks with your shifts or get called off all the time. You’re doing more than what you get paid. Company doesn’t really care about employees

Pros

As a stylist, all of my immediate supervisors were always smart, kind, understanding, and helpful. I was very quickly given the opportunity to advance to a management position. After you've worked a while, you can set a pretty flexible schedule.

Cons

Pay was severely cut when minimum wage went up in NYC as they started paying against our tips and commissions instead of in addition to it. Rarely got required breaks. Hours were inconsistent.
