Pros

Not micro-managed. Always new and interesting projects to work on and new technologies to learn. With new projects always beginning and ending the job stays fresh with new opportunities and challenges. Management is really good about finding new opportunities for you but not micromanaging the day to day minutia.

Cons

If you like a lot of hand holding and micro-managing it might not be for you. But really I don't have any cons. It's been a great company to work for.

Thank you for taking the time to reach out. You have identified two of the core characteristics of a Dudekian: empowered and accountable. People here thrive when we seek out new opportunities to learn and grow and challenge our approaches and tools. When we push for stronger results for our clients, and we feel supported, we can be accountable for our learning processes and our successes. We reward that accountability through ownership, compensation, and a culture of entrepreneurialism. Thanks for your attitude and approach. It’s great to have you on the team!

Pros

In the more than 5 years I've worked at Dudek, I've been able to explore my interest areas, contribute accordingly, and work on projects that have stretched my abilities in order to grow my skill-set and develop professionally. Hard work and initiative that leads to results is rewarded with more trust and autonomy, allowing you to really take ownership of your career development. In addition, in my experience, colleagues have been more than willing to lend a hand and collaborate--even and especially when it's crunch time and deadlines loom. There really is the feeling that as employee owners, we're all working together toward a common outcome. Above all, there's no conniving gossip or bureaucratic micromanagement--just good people who are good at their jobs getting the work done and having fun while doing it.

Cons

- No paid holidays between New Years and Memorial Day--the Spring Fever is real! - Long tenure of staff lends stability, but also means some of those same people can be slow to accept/implement modernizations that are perceived as different from how things have always been done

Dudek's commitment to hiring good "culture fits" is a critical piece of our recruitment and retention strategy. Dudekians thrive on being empowered with the right support and tools to add value to our clients. If you enjoy that freedom and are self driven, you have endless career development opportunities here. Thanks for sharing your experience and for the great suggestion about floating holidays. HR has that information and will look into it.
