Pros

Flexible schedule; work from home; learned a lot about social services and bureaucracy; met some nice co-workers and clients; able to take leave when needed

Cons

Case loads are too high; very top-down organization (upper management disregards concerns of workers); not a very collaborative environment; most supervisors were not licensed social workers; lack of weekly case consultation. Dungarvin is more concerned with making sure they get paid than they are about caring for clients' well-being. Required to maintain both electronic and paper files for clients; overwhelming amount of time-consuming paperwork required by Dungarvin and the county - hard to keep up.

Pros

Please keep in mind that I worked on the Admin side. Pay and benefits were competitive, they allowed for flexible schedules and they valued their employees. I personally loved working for and being a part of the Dungarvin team. If you worked hard and showed your commitment to the company, then they'd recognize and acknowledge it. I loved the flexibility and the option to work from home when needed and they allowed for flexible schedules where can. The upper management was always respectful and understanding. I worked for them for 7 years and would have stayed if it wasn't for me pursuing a long-time dream. For any future or current employees, take your position in the company seriously and put your full potential to use; their mission is valuable to society.

Cons

The raises weren't merit based. The direct care positions unfortunately seemed over-worked, under-payed and under-valued.
