Durham knew what they were doing when they fired me!

I can't find anything good about Durham. I have tried calling their corporate office and they don't return you call so nothing good to say.

Very low morale as other people have said, management is poor and not helpful on issues with the distance I was driving each day. I worked in McKinney, TX for 6 weeks in 2008. I was commuting 40 miles each way from close to downtown Dallas. When I asked them to help me with a wage amount so I could move closer into a income based apartment they couldn't help me because I hadn't worked for the company long enough to have an amount I was confused because another school system I worked for had given us a contract amount so I assumed all schools did that I was wrong. I had to go find another job closer to home so I changed companies. In 2009 I got on at Lewisville, TX. I was a sub driver. They stopped letting us ride on the buses to learn the routes and had us do the work of other drivers cleaning the sub buses out that the driver should have done. Six weeks into the job I was called into the Safety Managers office and was told I was being let go because I didn't tell them I had worked in McKinney. I assumed they would figure that out. They did but it took them 6 weeks, that is a lie they knew as soon as they put me in the system. They said I falsified my application according to DOT regulations. I have had so many jobs in this awful industry so I only list the key positions I have had. I think they used this as an excuse to get rid of to many sub drivers. This really screwed up my life and I had to move to a rural area as I wasn't getting unemployment so I had to go live with my father. I hate the transportation industry after 9 years of BS and being treated like crap. I got my Masters degree in January 2012 and can't get an office job because I have been in this industry for to long. I really dislike the way all management is acting toward people needing to work in their industry recently. At least you get training in the transportation industry, but it is no pay or minimum pay which one hour or more would get me out of training. I was forced to sit in a hot bus during the summer while they trained inexperienced drivers in McKinney and Lewisville. At least Dallas County got me off the bus in one day.
