Pros

If you enjoy project ownership, taking technical challenges and creatively finding solutions, and receiving executive exposure for successful outcomes, then this is a great place. The technical staff are top-notch engineers and come with the right expertise to work collaboratively to solve any problem. You do get the chance to propose ideas often.

Cons

Project ownership comes with the caveat that you don't know what you're supposed to be building 1/2 the time. The CEO also holds the CTO title, even though he doesn't have a technical degree. His interjections often caused contradictions in product design, then delays in the build, then personal attacks in meetings because the project owner couldn't keep up with changing demands. The CEO/CTO, Greg, is somewhat good at recognizing he needs help managing growing teams and delegating the technical projects, and he does hire respectable leaders; but they never last. One COO, a former 2-star general, didn't last 6 days on the job because he and Greg couldn't agree on the operational authority needed to do the job correctly; Greg was just too obsessed with micromanagement. Other top executives have left in similarly abrupt situations. Towards the end of my tenure, rumors were circling about how Greg might have caused OneWeb's bankruptcy years before; offloading his equity right before projects were announced to be year's off track. This would explain other rumors why Greg was so vocal about propping up E-Space's share price as fast as possible, because if word got out that their projects are also hampered by a megalomaniacal micromanager, then he could exit cash-rich while leaving all other employees+investors in the dust.

Pros

Opportunity to work on a very challenging engineering problem

Cons

Low-caliber team that can't raise to the challenge. Downfall accelerated by lack of organizational structure.
