Pros

Flexible hours, smart people, pretty good about promotions

Cons

Low pay for comparable positions, culture is that of an east coast elite liberal arts college and isn't open to other viewpoints. Con for some, pro for some.

Pros

-EAB manages to hire some truly exceptional individuals, especially at the research associate, analyst, and senior analyst levels. -Can be a great experience if you end up (and stay) with the right manager. -Generous PTO and decent benefits. -Very strong corporate citizenship program and strong culture of volunteerism.

Cons

-Strong cultural attachment to the "good old days" and legacy processes. -Culture of blame rather than accountability, especially as you climb the ladder. -Job descriptions rarely align with actual responsibilities. Employee duties and experiences at the same level vary substantially across teams. -Silo mentality and one-way communication make collaboration difficult and duplication inevitable. Recent growth has only exacerbated this problem (see Moody's explanation of its 2018 downgrade to EAB's outlook). -Strong in-group/out-group dynamics. Favoritism is an open secret. -Abysmal knowledge and project management. -Poor track record of recruiting, retaining, and growing diverse talent. -Barebones investment in L&D.
