      Pros

      Great benefits and lots of opportunity for professional growth if you're patient, diligent and have a good attitude. They promote from within, so hard work is rewarded, and you'll learn a ton working here.

      Cons

      Long hours consistent with the demands of consulting in the construction and development industries, but there is some flexibility; Hard work is rewarded, but you have to be patient.

      Pros

      Such a great place to work! I have been here almost 10 years, and I am still the rookie in my office. Great people, competitive pay, excellent benefits. Company performance and the numbers are shared with staff...there are very few secrets here. Great bonus program....if you and your team perform, your bonus is all based on black and white math and not whether or not your boss likes your haircut that week. You are given the freedom to get your work done, visit your job sites, and visit your clients.....all while you have the technology to stay connected from your car via your phone and tablet/laptop.

      Cons

      This is a tough industry, and it is not for everyone. This industry (and ECS) expects you to perform at a very high level, and if you perform, you are compensated. ECS is not the company to work for if you simply want to stroll in to work, have some coffee, and prop your feet up on a desk for 8 hours and then go home. This is a very fast-paced environment with ample opportunity to excel and learn. We are a growing company and with that come a few growing pains, but we are working through those pains.

      Solid engineering firm that cares about employees

      Pros

      It's been a great firm to work for. They generally care a lot about their employees (safety, benefits, longevity, training, etc.). If you are willing to work hard and learn, you can advance.

      Cons

      The engineering consulting world is difficult. It requires lots of effort in both project work and business development. It isn't for everyone, but if you stick with it, it can be rewarding.
