Pros

Its was great till the time of Ed. 20+ PTO Welness Friday every month Work from home since Covid Annual Bonus

Cons

The compnay is going for IPO and they moved Ed ex CEO. New CEO did a massive layoff in Sep 23. No respect for experienced employees. Very badly handled the layoff and termination contracts. The 4+ rating was older from Ed time. Now it is not more then 1 star company. Some news hires just trying to get CEO attention and when they failed, they just dump all it to older employees and also helped the new 1-2 year old management in kicking off the company historical resources. Not a good place to work anymore. Not a good company to buy in IPO.

Pros

If you are a highly motivated person, you will be given many opportunities to learn new things on your own.

Cons

EDB does not care about people, and will shed, reorganize, or demote staff without warning. Executives do not believe employees matter in the end. Not really. You're more likely to learn of your new job title through a company-wide blast than to receive a performance review. Before taking a job with EDB, ask these questions: - how long have my potential coworkers been on the job? - how many people are in my dept now? - how many were there a year ago?

Pros

A really well placed company which was doing everything right and all of a sudden all pros are vanishing. Wellness Friday is still a pro and soon it will vanish too.

Cons

A healthy company focused on Postgres and doing excellent in that. all of a sudden started feeling fomo of AI boom all credits to the new management .Now the downtrend for the company has started and that can be seen just by checking the company rating graph here on Glassdoor. Management need to understand that even if changes are needed they need to be gradually introduced with proper thoughtful decisions. Making random restructuring and changing priorities are kids stuff.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We appreciate your recognition of our past and are glad you see value in Wellness Fridays, which will remain an important part of our wellness initiatives. Regarding our strategic direction, the decision to embrace AI alongside Postgres is rooted in our commitment to innovation and meeting emerging market demands. That said, we recognize the importance of Postgres and the community, therefore we keep investing massively there. Your feedback on the pace and communication of these changes is valuable, and we’ll work on ensuring clearer communication and more gradual transitions where possible. Please feel free to reach out directly to your manager or ELT if you’d like to discuss your concerns in more depth.
