Pros

Free apartment, opportunities to meet people, and involvement in activities and events.

Cons

Compensation did not reflect the workload or level of responsibility expected from staff. Employees were expected to take on additional duties without additional pay. Hours were reduced with little notice while expectations and workload remained the same. Management communication and support were inconsistent, which created unnecessary stress and made the role more difficult than it needed to be. Workplace culture often felt unsupportive, and staff concerns were not handled professionally or constructively.

Thanks for sharing and sorry to hear your experience in our Toronto school was not what you were expecting. We've made the expected workflow more transparent during the hiring process, and reevaluated the compensation scheme. If you have anything else you would like to share, you can reach our team at hr@ef.com.

Thanks for your review and reflecting on your time as a Copywriter in Boston. The travel opportunities and sense of community you've described make EF a special place to work, and we're happy to hear those were highlights in your time here. Every year, we benchmark our compensation packages with industry standards, and we appreciate your comments towards that conversation. Career growth at EF can span a wide range of roles, teams, and products across the organization and that career path often looks less like a straight ladder and more like a spiral staircase. We wish you well in what comes next.
