Pros
EIKON cares about their employees, and makes the effort to get feedback, to improve, change, or enhance itself. Owners, and upper management across all departments, are on a first name basis with all of the employees, which is a rarity. Their salary is competitive, it's within the industry standard, you don't feel like you're working long hours, for little pay. While sometimes the hours can be long, that's part of the localization industry; if there is a need for personal time, or to take a break, they are accommodating.
In general, from the top down, EIKON is very transparent, so employees have a sense of the direction of things. During COVID, the owners held regular town halls, so that all employees knew where things stood. To the best of their abilities, ownership strived to keep as many people employed as they could, for as. long as they could. It was admirable, and appreciated.
There's plenty of opportunities to cross-train, to get a feel what other departments do, and learn how it impacts your own work. There's room to grow within the company, and to advance.
The facilities are top of the line, and cutting edge. Currently, they're likely the best theatrical localization facilities within the industry.
Also a plus, health, dental, and vision, are 100% covered. It took a while to get dental and vision, which was openly disclosed at hiring, but both are now offered with the benefits package.
Cons
EIKON could do better with their time off benefits. 2 weeks is the standard within the company in the U.S. This might be well and good for an entry level position, but if you're hired in with years of experience, and flourishing career prior to EIKON, 2 weeks is really minimal. There should also be a path towards earning additional vacation time as an incentive, with length of employment. Additionally, there are also no Personal Days. Most companies tend to offer at least 2 Personal Days that can be used as of the 1st of the year, that are not part to the vacation accrual. With improvements to time off, EIKON would be hard to beat, as an employer... or rather, harder to beat.
