Probably the most arrogant company you can work for

Pros

Hard to think of any honestly, slightly better than unemployment. Most of the people you work with are decent, although with the average age being about 55 most are just grinding it out until retirement.

Cons

Where to begin, wages are very low, if you are in sales they will pay you whatever commission they feel like. No transparency regarding sales numbers. Ironically you get a commission statement of how you earned commission about 2 weeks AFTER you were already paid commission. They make you feel like you should thank your lucky stars to make so little yet bring in a very unrealistic number ( only 1-2 people even hit their sales number). This is not a sales company, this is a software company that has sales people. Sales organizations do things like show recognition, pay for results, inspire, reward hard work. Won’t find that here.

Here at EMA, we place the upmost importance to employee input. We want all employees to feel as though they are being heard, so please if you have any issues with the current way things are being run, don’t hesitate to express these concerns with your supervisor. They have been made aware of this post would be glad to have an in-person meeting to discuss your concerns. Regarding salary, we are frequently reviewing our local market to ensure the salaries offered to employees/potential employees are on par with those within our industry. We know our employees are a huge contributor to our success and want them to be properly compensated for their hard work. Please note our policies and office culture are frequently being reviewed to be sure everything we do here promotes teamwork, positivity, and a healthy work/life balance.

Pros

They do give raises - I got 2 in less than 2 years. Prospering technology re-seller. Business is successful.

Cons

Electrical engineering can be boring. People are not very social, and there are no team building activities. There is no collaboration or communication between departments.

Horrible Management

Pros

The paycheck is better than unemployment.

Cons

The office environment is toxic. Managers want "yes" men who will do the work no matter how poor or ill-advised the request is. When projects fail, blame gets passed around and eventually falls to the lowest ranking man. Upper management uses intimidation tactics and bullies employees into staying late and frequently working overtime hours. They often times don't understand what they're asking for and trying to educate them on best practices and more efficient methods is treated as insubordination which will eventually lead to being bullied into doing things by their poor methods. I've been in my industry for over 20 years. I've never been treated so poorly by people so ignorant.
