Great learning for the beginners. Explore many things in technical whatever you want. Very relaxed work environment. Very less process and unnecessary activities.

Cons

Well experienced people find difficult here. Career growth limited. very less exposure to the management skills. intermediate management is not so good as the top management.

Pros

Research oriented and very laid back atmosphere. Immigrant and H1B friendly, almost every second guy in the company is Indian or Chinese.

Cons

This company is not really a good place for software engineers. Most of their software systems are legacy CFD support software that does not offer any challenges from a computer science point of view. Most of the software engineers at ESI work on user interface design, which of course is boring and terrible for someone looking to further his career as a computer scientist. The big issue is, when you are hired as a software engineer, it appears you are hired to work on engineering software but in reality you end up designing user interfaces using outdated and outmoded UI toolkits.
