Work from home is the norm.

Cons

Minimal control of deal flow. Incredibly poor management system and org chart. teams are not on the same team, involving different managers and bonus metrics. Deal flow is incredibly slow compared to competitors in the market.

Pros

The food at the main campus cafeteria is pretty good. The company also offers intramurals, which is a plus. Lots of talented, friendly people. I was able to observe several other departments just by reaching out to people I met.

Cons

No metrics to evaluate performance. Performance reviews are extremely objective. The department has no idea how to measure ROI (return on investment) despite continually harping on how important it is. Very little upward mobility. The only transferrable skills are Excel/SQL and content. Once you leave the newsroom, your "skills" are borderline useless. Stats Analysts are treated like babies. You must submit daily shift recaps describing what you did. The pay, hours and schedule are all terrible. I know multiple Stats Analyst II's who were making around $45-$50k/year at ESPN who are now making six figures within a couple years of leaving. North campus is a bomb shelter. I would not recommend working in S&A to a friend. If you must, do it for a year and then leave
