Pros

Love being part of a startup that is making a difference in the world. The energy and excitement about the work here is palpable, as it should be. Exciting times.

Cons

As with all startups, you need to be the kind of person who can take initiative, figure out what needs to be done and get to it.

Pros

- Company has noble mission and potential for doing seriously virtuous work - Plenty of very talented, passionate and committed people still work here - All-company events are truly amazing and enriching opportunities

Cons

- Management is out-of-touch and entirely lacks true business vision, no one in the leadership team has a true tech DNA - There is a complete lack of meritocracy: advancement is purely based on proximity to the CEO and his accolades (who are merely yes-people) - CEO is former politician and really good at first impressions, but consistently shows a complete lack of understanding of the business. This is true of most executives here - Company keeps setting itself unrealistic revenue goals to the point that all lines of business continuously fail to hit their monthly, quarterly and yearly targets. Instead of questioning their strategy, executives constantly blame the people below them, who are actually doing the hard work with very little direction or guidance - There is a total lack of transparency and the feeling is that leadership keeps misrepresenting and misreporting how things are really going - While they love boasting about being a "social" company, everything they do, from hiring to promoting people, shows they are not truly committed to anything they preach - Leadership has demonstrated over and over that they are unable to learn from their own mistakes and place all their efforts in playing political games with each other
