Pros

Better HR policies compared to other big three, Competitive base bay, competitive perks, great maternity/paternity benefits (4 months), excellent team and colleagues

Cons

Limited growth opportunity for senior managers. Discrimination based on age - some older folks are let go irrespective of high utilization.

Pros

EY is an excellent company. Since the day of the interview, I have felt that everyone at EY is super nice. Even Senior managers or PPEDs are willing to treat staff 1 with great patience and respect. EY also has great company culture and vision. As an international student, EY is one of the very few employers that would be willing to give me an opportunity. I will always keep this in mind and be grateful. As a TAP, EY pays me very well. The salary is almost as good as Tier 1 Consulting firms first year analysts. I feel it's much more than I deserve. I love EY a lot, despite a few things bothering me.

Cons

1. Utilization is extremely unfair to Staffs. It's not up to us to decide which engagement we can get. We all want to be staffed but sometimes being on the bench is inevitable. As Staff, especially new hires, the fate of being staffed or not is not on our hands. Even though people assure us that utilization won't be used against us if we're not staffed because of deployment, during reviews, low utilization is still used against us. 2. TAP/BAP are awesome programs by design. But in reality, networking and luck suddenly become more important than just doing the work right. being aligned to the service line you like is probably not up to you. being staffed to the right engagement depends on your luck and networking. 3. There is a lot of pressure for participating in internal initiatives in NYC office. I like them but when they become pressure, it's no longer enjoyable.
