Pros
Working remote is an awesome experience while getting government contract experience. Paid travel and not being micromanaged is a huge plus. My role was helpdesk so the job is not challenging you do mostly rote and routine tasks which are simple and easy. If you are working with GOV contract then SOP heavy expectations there wont be much deviation on day-to-day responsibilities. Low stress.
Cons
The salaries/raises are not keeping up with the current market rates or inflation levels. The rates are stuck several years in the past. I imagine they are able to do this with shrinking supply of "fully remote" positions wages can be slashed to compete with hybrid or on site roles. This is not a technical role it is a combination of phone technical support and administrative processing. In my case I was seeking more technically challenging work with 10 years of IT experience but you will not find it here. If you want to develop or are a mid-level candidate look elsewhere You likely will not see many promotion opportunities and those ones I did see happen were influenced by nepotism. If you want to coast down easy street fully remote with negative wage growth & no raises work here you will have fun but don't expect things to change much. Health insurance was expensive. There were annual bonuses but they are gone now. If you are on phone support don't expect to get the full EY holiday time off benefits.
