Pros

Good environment, people feel valuated and the employer gives all support needed while delegating much responsibility (which I think is good)

Cons

Long hours and crap payment. You can receive more as a mcdonalds floor manager than as an Ernst&Young senior staff

Pros

Variety of areas to learn in; good opportunities to cross skill and transfer across departments; also, environment is more meritocratic and people are generally friendly.

Cons

Long work hours (especially in the consulting field); quality of management in certain departments leaves much to be desired for; you're always expected to tow the corporate line, so having frank conversations can be tricky at times.
