Pros

It was 10 years of experience crammed into 5. Their training programs were excellent.

Cons

We worked crazy hours. There were nights I didn't get more that a couple hours of sleep before going back to the office. It was hard to have personal life.

Enjoy time sitting doing nothing

Pros

The pay is decent for the number of hours put in and the added perks like overtime dinner and car services make it at least somewhat worth it to stay late. The company has been ranked highly for work-life balance and allows you to defer holiday hours during busy seasons.

Cons

As a staff, you will sit for hours doing absolutely nothing. You can't ask for more work because you "could be busy soon". While I think I am worth what I am paid and then some, I don't feel like my work is worth it. I sit and do nothing, and then when I do have work they are trivial tasks and you don't feel like part of the team. Many of the seniors and managers come in late in the morning and prefer to work until 11pm or later. If you are a morning person, there's no point coming in early because you won't have any work and you will still be expected to stay all night. Work-life balance only exists for married individuals and Mom's. Do NOT expect to be allowed to ask for a weekend off, even if the manager is on vacation. Expect to always be in a busy season to "make you well rounded".

Pros

People. People. People. The culture is great, I enjoy being around the people I work with, and they place a strong emphasis on work life balance, and making sure resources don't burn out. Frequent Traveler program for anyone flying 50,000 miles or 100 hotel nights in a rolling 12mo period - allows any 3+ hr flights to be booked in First/Business, gets you a free Corp Platinum Amex, and below Senior Manager - expense your entire mobile phone bill.

Cons

Compensation. Independence with Audit clients. Year-end ratings and the raises/bonuses associated. No retention bonus or "catchup" raise to even out salaries for people who grew within the firm (as opposed to being hired into current position - i.e., Senior 2 to Senior Manager in 5 years)
