Pros

- Great people to work with (peers and below). The people hired at EY truly care about doing their absolute best and despite the challenges that leadership manufacturers themselves, they pull through to create success for the firm completely un recognized. - US Tax has two one week breaks - Decent benefits

Cons

- Leadership wants innovation but lacks vision - Layoff announcements without defined days or notification. Ie People were told there will be layoffs over the next 6 months leaving everyone in the dark and nervous about their future security - Hiring of subject matter experts done without consideration of placement - Lack of mentorship and guidance - Disagreement and lack of alignment from partners leading to confusion - Large workload small staff - If you opt to take the EDGE path there is no career progression

Pros

The main pro of EY (and frankly any consulting job) is the ability to get on various projects to learn what you do/don't like and rapidly add new skillsets compared to the industry. You get to learn from some of the smartest people (both internally and clients) and quickly learn how to hone in your technical and communication skills.

Cons

Like any large organization, there are a lot of compliance and processes that sometimes slow down your productivity and growth. Especially if you are a staff, even if you are high-performing, you will follow a typical "trajectory" from staff > senior - rarely are there exceptions. If you're a high-performer you will often not have a good WLB or necessarily be appreciated for your efforts.
