Pros

It has a good reputation, and one can learn from trial an error and early career exposure.

Cons

Joining right after college has a lot of challenges especially for young professionals who have not had experience dealing with corporate politics, toxic work teams, managers who don’t care about their employees. Unfortunately, I dealt with that throughout my time. While not every team is like that, I had a negative experience working there and found a much more balanced career afterwards.

Pros

Good benefits ($1,000 fitness fund, insurance plans, vouchers for learning/training/certs)

Cons

Do not offer competitive pay until all the 3 other Big 4 do compensation adjustments. The firm executives constantly asks employees in the all hands calls, what do we want/need to feel better and do our jobs better. They literally are told exactly how to make their employees happier, and ignore these instructions time and time again. Lack of adequate training (the new hire training is ACTUALLY useless and will not help you complete any work as a new joiner) Lack of people to support teams and projects (AKA you will be thrown into the fire with crazy amounts of work, yet you will have nobody to guide you or explain things to you) No ability to develop a niche specialty within technology space or room for creativity/innovation in the tech risk space (each engagement is follows a same as last year approach, where we copy whatever we did in the year before...) The recruiters literally lie about what the position is and what it entails. This is not consulting, nor is it really technology focused. It is certainly more audit-y than tech-y.

Pros

Excellent raise and bonus. I got a 20% raise this year and a decent bonus. Performance based compensation, fantastic colleagues and boss, and the best possible flexible work environment. Huge investments in our learning and growth, very eager for you to take a week off to do a cyber certification Boot Camp, etc. Certification required for manager. Fantastic values and respect for the employee.

Cons

Occasional training that seems unrelated to my field, since we are an auditing firm. 40 hours of CPE credits due every year, but the learning topics are not relevant to cyber security.
