Pros
People are passionate about the work and great to work with. They're very flexible with your schedule and it's a very collaborative, positive energy. Much of the company worked remotely before the pandemic, so the transition to fully remote was an ease. Managers take into account both your availability and interest when delegating work. There's a great work/life balance in that sense. You can definitely work more if you'd like (and get paid those additional hours) but you're by no means expected to. There is a lot of onboarding and training and people are generally happy to answer questions or provide assistance.
Cons
The pay is not competitive at all - for the area or increasing inflation. Starting base salaries are so low that even if raises are high percentage-wise, it doesn't translate to much of a salary increase in reality. This is a large complaint across the company. Your good work is rewarded with more work and more responsibilities, but it's not reflected in your paycheck. They don't give mid-year raises because it messes with their contract rates, but you would think a company would be budgeting for these types of things. It feels like most people have either been there for 15+ years or are recent graduates. There seems to be high turnover for mid-level employees because people get frustrated with the pay after a few years and leave.
