      Pros

      There are many job opportunities at the Texas and Tennessee sites.

      Cons

      Eastman compares itself to Dow, Ineos, DuPont, etc. When it comes down to it, Eastman does not invest as much in their employees like the others in the industry. They tell their employees that Eastman is on par with their competitors, when in reality they are falling behind the curve.

      Pros

      Overall it’s a great place to work. Always something new to learn. The company does a lot of really cool things as well - new technologies, new products. Benefits are good as well.

      Cons

      The most unfortunate thing about Eastman is that it seems stockholders are all that matters. At the corporate level, you live and die by the stock price. If it doesn’t look like they’ll be able to meet what was told to investors in Q1, you can guarantee there will be headcount reductions in Q4. Eastman has been a pillar of the local community for over 100 years. At times I think they have lost sight of that. There were headcount reductions 4 out of the 5 years I was there.

      Pros

      Great professional growth in a corporate setting, with my core team being great to work with and supportive while meeting tight deadlines and doing a high-volume of work. Loved the work I did and the sustainability messaging of the products.

      Cons

      Leaders were not as transparent as they portrayed and did not realize the work we did nor our value that we brought to the table. At the end of the day you're just number.
