The C-Suite has lost the plot. The company has turned the process of buying brands and ruining them into a science. They even have a term for it "Eatonize" Any decision or direction can be chalked up to "vision" and "leadership". Most of them actually driven by accounting and HR and agreed in concensus. Comical. No longer invests in training. Bureaucratic. Ability has very little to do with promotional opportunities. This one was hard to watch play out time after time. Compensation is below average. Benifits are below average and get worse every year. Will make any cut or reduction that can be rationalized by peer group behavior. Product quality and customer satisfaction is low on the list of priorities. Leads new engineers to believe they are working for and being trained by world class manufacturers, still uses laminated cards as an inventory system. Treats hourly workers very poorly. Never backfill positions, when a coworker finds a better job, yours gets worse. It's all about people and leadership until a decision doesn't align with a fictional top down forecast... then it's results at all costs. Annual budget process is entirely top down, when the company misses they wonder why! Argue about reality then miss forecast then restructure... and repeat.

Like many large corporations, this is a very top heavy company and employees are drowning in labyrinths of office politics. Unlike most technology employers individual productivity and competency don’t play as major role in your career path. Leading a team into disaster can get you promoted and being a superstar at your job will lock you into a role with no chances of movement. It should be noted that not too many minorities or women in managerial roles. It’s a good place for new grads to gain some experience and move on or for those who are in the tail end of their career. If you’ve reached the point of thinking how many years left before retirement then you’re likely to have the right frame of mind. Turnover in the first few years is high and be aware that if things don’t work out, you’ll have very few options to find other employment locally.
